My spouse and I looked at this painting for a long time. We love San Antonio and are proud of our Texas heritage. We wanted to make our modest new home feel like a mission retreat, and this work by Ms. Colson transported us to a location we both love, The Alamo. It avoided the more pedestrian versions of the Alamo, in favor a more subtle nod of the head to the grace of that place and the beauty of mission architecture. The colors, brush strokes and lighting choices were soothing and beckoned the viewer to wander into world out of place and time. Thank you. :)
